Canada's defining moments?

What defining moments in Cana's history during the twentieth century enabled Canada to be seen as such a nation?

MAJOR POINTS FOR ANYONE WHO JUST NAMES THREE!
Canada's defining moments?
The FLQ and the October Crisis, Meech (sp?) lake accords, The whole constitutional crisis in general, The clarity act, the reign of Pierre Trudeau...and probably most importantly the Quiet revolution
Canada's defining moments?
they helped in WWII, not many people know they were at D-Day and helped the allies a bunch to beat back the germans in europe

then the battle of Vimy Ridge...the first WWI battle that was won by use of pure tactics instead of waves and waves of manpower. by the canadians

and at last the Italian campaign in WWII, the amount of what they did in that hugely helped the allies
Reply:The most important defining moment in Canada's history in the 20th century was the Battle of Vimy Ridge in WWI. It was

the first time that we fought as Canadians under Canadian command. The fact that we did what the 'big powers' ie France, U.S.A. and Britain all together couldn't was icing on the cake. The second important event was our landing at Juno Beach on D Day. There were landings by the U.S. and

Britain and Canada. Canada was the only country that met its objective in the time that it was supposed to. The Brits and

the Americans got 'hung up' on their beaches and did not

achieve their objectives until much later. Lastly I think the

third defining moment as a nation for us was when Trudreau brought our Constitution home from Britain.
