Who were the Union and confederate leaders for the battle of Appomattox during the civil war?
Union--General Grant.

Confederate--General Robert E. Lee.

See below.
Reply:Wasn't a battle. It was where the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered
Reply:By that time, the leaders of the respective sides were Lee and Grant, but what happened at Appomattox was hardly a battle. Some shots were fired, but nothing to compare with what happened at any of many other battles of the preceding four years. There is a good account of that encounter near the end (of course) of Vol. III of Shelby Foote's The Civil War: A Narrative.
