Thomas Edison?

Did you know that?

Wikipedia on Edison:

"On December 25, 1871, at the age of 24, Edison married 16-year-old Mary Stilwell, whom he had met two months earlier. They had three children:

Marion Estelle Edison (1873鈥?965), nicknamed "Dot"

Thomas Alva Edison Jr. (1876鈥?935), nicknamed "Dash"

William Leslie Edison (1878鈥?937)[10] "

Before I get censored for putting this up I want to remind you I am quoting an article on Edison and giving you the link so you can look it up for yourselves. I am not calling anyone anything. It happens to be a fact.
Thomas Edison?
Why would you get censored? But deeper than that - why are you putting this up? Is it a question? If so, I missed it. If you are looking at Mary's age - in those days, 16 was not too young to get married. In fact, if a girl made it to 20 without getting maried, she was considered an old maid.
Thomas Edison?
cool!
Reply:And so what is you point?

Are you attempting to place modern day morals and values on the late 1800's or what?
Reply:Yep. She died, and he remarried a woman who understood Morse telegraph code, with which they'd communicate silently by touch.

I don't have any idea what happened to the kids, though. Edison was not an easy man to deal with, and my guess is that while the young Edisons were likely very wealthy as heirs to the Edison fortune, their relationship with their father might have been difficult.

Edison's acquaintance Tesla never married and in fact could not stand to have anyone else touch him, even before he lost his marbles at about age 40. Edison, who is about the sturdiest genius history has yet produced, kept working until he died at age 83 in 1931.

Thanks for the names of the kids. I'll google them and see what happened to them.
