Who are some people who overcame handicaps to rise to success?
Franklin Delano Roosevelt...the only man to have 4 terms as President of the United States. He was crippled by polio as an adult and had to use the crude version of a wheel chair.
Who are some people who overcame handicaps to rise to success?
the obvious ones are

terry fox %26amp; rick hansen :)
Reply:i cant remember his name... but the first superman ever became paralyzed from the neck down from a horse accident. the doctors said he would never even breath on his on again. now, he CAN breath on his own, can use most of his upper body, changes himself, and basically anything a normal person in a wheelchair could do. he now goes around to different colleges giving motivational speeches.

also wilma rudolph, who was fatally small as a baby. after that, she got double amonia and scarlet fever, paralyzing her left leg, but she overcame that, and is now the fastest woman in the world.
Reply:Helen Keller. Born blind and deaf. Learned to speak. Graduated college.

Levi S has me stumped. Christopher Reeve was the first Superman who also was thrown from a horse. He died about 5-6 years ago, so I can't figure out how he's doing motivational speaking.
Reply:Beethoven who went deaf in the middle of his life as a composer. The name of the actor who played Superman was

Christopher Reeve. the artist whose name I forget but they

made a movie of him called "My Left Foot' because he

could only use his left foot to paint with.
